Astra MK3 roll/show cage .. is it worth making my own ?

i have a 5door mk3 astra 1.4 with a c20let engine in and has no interior , were can i get a roll cage ?. i dont really wont a full cage for £300-£500
is it worth making my own ?

make it chap it should be easy enough if you just have to weld,

cage being already made but needing welded together/in i dont see it being that hard!

1.4 is it registered as a 2.0l 16v turbo??

yer i am i can weld very good,,,be nice just to buy one for a few £100'S and no not yet registered its still 1,4 its mot&tax buts its not been on the road yet i all ways trailer it to trackes

what are trackes?

If you have bucket seats and harnesses get a proper cage as if you have a crash you will be stuck in position and without a cage where will the roof etc go logically? thats right your head.

"Trackes" is just a word we use its mean ,track days and rally stages , in a road legal car .

This is a bad idea. DIY/show cages are more dangerous than nothing.

Agree with Tathan, don't make a show cage. Only way you'll know if its any good is if you have a big accident. Bit of a risk IMO.
If you good with a welder then buy and cage in kit form and weld it in yourself.
