E 266.
Anyone tried matching this color ?

Should i just go straight to Vauxhaul bodyshop and ask them for a can ?

Its the Metallic/Graphite grey color, i saw Tom williams`s car yesterday In the "IRS Cavalier/calibra important" forum in the torque section, same color as that i think.

was it Black Black or Black in certain lites, as is the case with mine, it looks black when just been cleaned/polished but today looks like met grey, the color hasnt faded either !!

Diamond black is a metallic. Therefore in some lights the metallic particles may make the car look met grey.

Will go to vaux garage and get a can and test, can is £6.50 for a 500 ml can, thats the size he "thought" it was

Thing is, the log book says Grey as the color ???
Here, take a look at www.theboyracer.net/viewcar.php?id=71
and say what you see the color is.
If it was diamond black, why does it look grey ?

Code 266 is defo diamond black
Cant explain why your log book states grey
As far as im aware GSI cavs only came in 6 different colours

Red
white
blue
black
Silver
Grey

Its probably the metalic that makes the colour look a little off black.

Thats what i mean, that photo was taken just after wash/wax, but after say 2 weeks of use the color looks more grey and not from the road dirt either, wipe a patch of dirt away and it looks grey until polished ??

Oh well, seems it is diamond black then, going by peoples advice of it being an off black etc etc.

When i owned my MK2, the color black really was black, in any lite, thats why i was confused, but all you guys have sorted out my worries, cheers all.....

rainbow blue is purple.....i can tell that and im coloures blind...vauxhall eh

and dont worry...this year grey is the new black
