Thumbs up 18's on MK3 Astra???

If anyone can answer these questions asap it would be greatly appreciated.

    I have a MK3 Astra Sport 1.8 16v.

I would like to fit 7X18 ET45 with 215-35-18 Falken's. Will they go on?

Also how low can i go? I would like to go 40mm.

I don't really want to do any arch rolling or trimming.

A friend of mine who also runs a highly successful bodyshop says they will go straight on with no mods and 40mm drop, any opinions.... but obviosly before i lay out any cash i want to know the score.

    Please email me at rcgarbas@aol.com

    Cheers

    Richard

More than likely gonna need to trim a bit of the arch back.

You have the ideal tyre setup and offset so it shouldnt be to drastic.

Im running 7x18 ET40 with 215-35-18 with a 55mm drop. They went straight on without mods but i had to roll the arches slightly on the back when i came to carrying passengers.

you can get 7x18 on et45 on with minimal, if any arch mods.

I dont know if ive just been lucky, but like i said the only arch mods i had to do was on the rear if i was 5up, and thats with the wheels stuffed right up in the arches. il try to upload some pics to show where i had to roll

    Hi everyone,

    Fitted my new
    7X18 Mille Miglia HT3 ET45
    215-35-18 Falken's

Lowered 40mm on Apex Springs (nice ride)

NO RUBBING with 3 people, have not tried anymore yet.

But the front is decked, but the back could do with going another 20-25mm! Any ideas???

Hi mate, nice choice! mine are 18'' HT3's. I also purchased Apex -40mm springs, and like you said the front drops in the weeds but the back needs slightly more. I managed to get hold of some -60mm Mk2 Astra GTE rear springs which dropped the rear slightly more to a nice level.

Forgot to say that i would advise having the rear arches rolled anyway... The reason i say this is i had 3 in the back seat. I went for quite some time without having any problems with rubbing, but i went over quite a large bump in the road and the wheel caught the arch and pulled the lip down which cracked all the paint. You might be ok cus your running ET45 where mine are ET40 but thought id let you know to try and save you the grief i had.
