Removing light scratches from perspex instrument cluster??
I've just picked up an instrument cluster from a breakers today, it is ok apart from some very light scratches to the clear perspex fascia. Can anyone recommend a way to polish out these scratches without leaving it covered in swirl marks?
Thanks

removing scratches
I remember hearing something about using a metal polish like "Brasso"to remove scratches from plastic etc. Try some on something unimportant first though.

It'll be tough mate, no matter what you do, it's gonna involve removing thin layers of plastic from the perspex, which will then distort what you view behind it (acting like a minature concave lense). Ideally its just to make it more decorative (ie down in a corner) and not somewhere thats in the line of sight (right in front of the dials).
Even a bufffing wheel with polish will start to remove some of the surface. But this is your best bet (ie the softest thing you can get hold of) as the more coarse it is (ie harsher grades of sand/glass paper) the more it'll scratch. Brasso maybe an option as all it is basically fine grit in a lubricant.
As said, try it down in a corner of something where you won't notice.
