Colour change without led's??

A while ago, someone put up a thread about changing dash colour without using led's (think it was coloured 'sleeves' or something)..

Anyone remember??.... I need to know more

I can get them in red green and yellow now as well as orange for 30p new.

I'm interested in those to mate, It'll save me the hassle of soldering the LED's.

in that linked thread you said they can also come out of rover steroes, i'm looking for red ones. And is it any specific rover?

anyone thought of anything to do with the electric window switches and hearted mirror light on the adjuster button on drivers door? they look like a sod to do?

I've previously done both of those and I did find them a bit fiddly, to be honest....
But they worked (well, except 1 which I most likely connected the wrong way round )...... only problem is a couple of the centre console window switches need to be pushed VERY hard to operate them (think it needs to be re-done)

I like my led switches (a lot) but these are so much simpler and have a similar effect.. top job

Aaawww buddy..... I don't like to impose too much And the g/box indicator would have been a pain to do, as would the heater display.... said so yerself


lee for the minute, I just have the bulbs in the g/box and fuel 'puter, gonna try 'em with the covers on when I get some time - then I'll do the heater display as well - not the hot/cold red/blue bit, just the airflow direction display thingummy (is there just one lamp behind there or more??).

Lee any chance i can place an order for some LEDs please m8 , need enuff to do a mk3 astra dash / clock, date, temp computer thingy / and some for the heater controls and light switches if you do them ? Let me know how much inc p&p an a cheque will be on its way asap
