Sikaflex is the stuff to use, make sure its 227 (the non-sagging stuff) & it can be used to smooth the join. This is how I smoothed the join of my rear apron to rear bumper.

I used it to bond & smooth though the gap I had was only about 2mm.

A 10mm gap is rather excessive, is there any way you can smooth the joining edge off to leave an even gap the whole length.

I just put on my side skirts this weekend actually!

Everyone recommended sikoflex to me so I bought some.

Well, at first, after I spend ages slapping glue all over the place, I held it on but wasn't convinced it'd be strong enough to hold it!!! I put a jack under it to hold it in place and various bits of wood. It was an ar$e in the start cause it wasn't staying where I wanted it to - but in the end got it held there.

It took about 5 hours to dry and well, hell I'm impressed......it flexes when you try move it (guess that's why it's called sikoflex) but it's well rigid!!

I think you should go with that - I'm well impressed and will be using that to stick on spoilers and the door panels!

I got my sikoflex from partco for a tenner!

I used 15 minute epoxy resin and silicone sealant to fit my skirts then i fibreglassed/filled on the top edge to smooth it into the body. As for all this use of jacks and bits of wood to hold it in place, don't bother if ur gonna smooth the top edge in with filler anyway, just whack a few self tapping metal screws along the top edge with some epoxy resin behind it to bond it to the sill. Then just remove the screws and fill and smooth over the holes.
