    Smoked Headlights

Is it legal to smoke headlights? I was considering smoking my headlights and front indicators, but I'm not sure how far to go with it so I don't get pulled. Any help please?

    Cheers.

    What car's it for mate??

AFAIK.. it's a bit 'iffy' but, as long as the indicators can be clearly seen during the day you shouldn't have a problem.. As far as headlights go, you're not allowed to alter the reflector (but Halfords do uprated bulbs that'll combat the effect of tinting them - not 'E' marked so, technically, not legal... unlikely to have your bulbs cheked by plod though)

It's a J reg Astra mk3. So if I just spray a bit on to tint it about 30% or something, it would be ok?

Also would it still pass it's MOT if I got uprated bulbs as well?

    Cheers.

Oh... one thing to note... I've heard that tinting spray doesn't work on glass

Could always get headlamp protectors and tint them
Then you can remove them easily if you get probs..

Do they actually look any good? I've seen them on the vauxhall website on a vectra and they look alright. And do they cover the indicators as well?

    Cheers

They look quite smart... and they cover the indicators too...
I smoked the oines for my Cav but the job was pretty crappy so they looked a bit poo
I'm thinking of removing the tint spray and trying to apply film to them instead.. could be a better option

    Polo Variant

    Covers

I had some EGR carbon look covers on my MK4 Astra before I got my Coupe lights, they looked rather good and were not that expensive, about £25. Pretty sure they are now availible from Vauxhall dealers, although I got mine from Rossiters.
