    hi y'all!

What stuff (and where from) do you peeps use to stick on side rub strips and the like? Obviously they are light so nothing too OTT, but I want them to stay on!

You best bet is goin to vauxhall and finding out what they use, cos it has to be ****in strong stuff. Hard enough gettin the sticky off when you take the strips off.

New bump strips come with a sticky pad attached, so its unlikely you could get it seperately. Go for that stuff used for side skirts, sikaflex i think?

Most strips are self adhesive anyway, and as you say it doesn't have to be much. Just make sure the metal is absolutely clean.

You can get a thin double sided tape for sticking body mouldings on, its available from most car accessory places.
I used it to stick the rub strips back on my car and can recommend it.

Halfords will probably do it, I should guess there are several different brands of it.
I took the rub strips off my Corsa and painted them body colour, cleaned off the old glue and stuck 'em back on with this tape. Its very thin, so you won't get a gap between the strips and the body, in fact it looks too flimsy to hold them on.
I think it "cures" after a while, my strips are stuck on like limpets now, just as strong as the original glue.

Rob, thats cool. I will look out for this stuff, I can go to C.A.R in Guildford if they dont have it in Halfords.
Can u remember what brand this double sided tape was? If not dont worry, but it sounds like gr8 stuff to me.

I can't remember the actual name of it, but I think I still have the packet in the garage. I'll see if I can find it, if so, I'll post the name on here.

I can't find the packet that it came in now, it probably been binned. It was called something like "double sided body moulding tape". If your having any problems finding any, I can buy a roll the same place I got mine from and mail it to you, its no problem.
