The best way to debadge, is to cut through behind the badge with cotton, using a simple sawing motion. This cuts through the pad easily, and gets em off in seconds.
You will then find half the pad is attached to the badge still, and the other half to the bodywork.
To remove the resident sticky pad, simply rub hard with a finger and the glue peels away bit by bit. Start from an edge and work slowly, if your lucky the whole piece comes away complete.
White spirit any stubborn bits, then T-Cut and polish.
    Perfect job, and dead Simple.

first time i tried I used a hair dryer and my finger to rub off the remnants. this took absolutly ages and gave me multiple blisters! lol

2nd time I tryed I used a kettle of boiling water, the badges virtually fell off with all the glue aswell! took about 20 seconds per badge! much easier.

Do normal stickers come off the same way?

Is there likely to be a dip in the bonnet behind my vaux badge?

use a hot air gun to soften the glue

    peel badge off

use t-cut and polish to finish

(oh and factor in a load of time to do it properly )

When i did work experience at vauxhall some moons ago, they showed me how they removed hard glue, they used a large rubber disk which you stick on a drill and it takes the glue off. But a word of warning, dont hold it on one place for too long, cos it will eventually take the paint away. It was a creamy brown coloured bit.
