help with astra side repeaters please

i hope this is the right section, seemed most suitable,

basically i bought some astra side repeaters and the passenger on went on fine but the drivers side seems to have an obstruction, as if there is something inside the wing stopping the lense fitting straight

yes mate, its the fuel evap canister, its right in the way. i took the little plastic bit off the plug and it sort of fits ok now

does the bulb stay in though? which plastic bit do you mean?

the plastic bit on the multiplug on the loom, not the indicator itself. theres a small plastic 'shroud' that clips over where the wires go in,vi took it off and got just enough room. genuine vauxhall side repeaters have the bulb holder at an angle to miss the canister. the aftermarket ones are usually a ford design (same front, different clip/holder)

these are genuine astra ones, it is angled just not enough so the black clip thing that clips into the bulb holder than the wires go into? sorry i'm a bit confused

oh they are MK4 astra ones aint they? i was thinking of MK3 ones if you can pull the loom out through the wing a bit and get a photo i can show you the bit that needs to come off. have you got the holder angled back or forwards? as the canister is slightly forwards from the repeater hole, so the plug wants to go backwards
