    16" or 17" for Astra MK3

    Howzit all

I am looking @ fitting bigger wheels and a suspension kit (40mm drop) to my MK3 Astra.
What will be the best size, a 16" wheel with a 205/45/16 tyre or a 17" with 215/40/17 or should I be looking @ other tyre sizes. I have seen one with 17's on - looks awesome but am I gonna have trouble with the arches with 17's and a 40mm drop?
What do you guys think? What will be overall best with a 40mm drop, 16" or 17"? Anyone with pics of their Astra - please post, it would be much appreciated!

    Any info greatly appreciated!

    Thanks
    Wayne

Can't you have 205/45/R17 instead?? Plus 17" tyres are cheaper (usually) than 16" 'cause not alot of companys make 16" tyres. Not sure on how much room there will be, i'm sure someone with 17" on a Mk3 will post soon,

    1 stripped 8 valve astra,
i am running 17's with a 35mm drop and it is fine only when 4 adults in car under heavy braking do the mudflaps at the front scrape a little but for most of the time it is fine, oh yeh by the way mine is a 5 door astra mk3
8 valves are fun but I have been bitten by the XE bug.... 1500 miles and I'm bored. ah well if only I'd listened........

    As he says ^^^

    tyre size - 205/40 R17 for 17s.

    215 not necessary.

Ive had 205/40 R17s, 60mm drop, ICE and 4up - no rubbing on standard arches

they are both RJ automotive cars!! The yellow one is Lee's one of the owners of RJ and the Green is mats another owner of RJ

The saloon has now been sold for £3500, to someone that has never owned a modded car before and we think he will be putting a turbo engine in it.

The other owner of RJ is Mark and this is his 2.0 turbo nova.

This kit is now for sale Lee and Mark designed and hand made the entire kit!!
