Final Cav hatch GSi bumper theory...

Right, since I was told on here that the GSi rear is just o cover over the standard bumper, I've done a little homework and theoretically...

its possible to buy GSi rear bumper, take of cover, throw away backing for saloon, shorten GSi cover, and attach it to a standard hatch backing and bolt onto the car....

Its a good plan, but knowing Vuaxhall it sounds to 'simple' to be possible...

anyone able to shed light on it....?

    Cheers

Yes mate.It should clip on ok across the back, and if you cut the sides with care you can line up the standard clips to help hold the pieces together while you fix the bits back together.

Just take your old bumper and the Cav GSi rear bumper to a bumper specialists and get them to plastic weld it up. It'll look nice and won't crack.

as simon says, plastic welding is good.

do it yourself using offcuts of plastic, and a soldering iron
