Bonnet lifters...
Howdy all....
I have been wanting to get bonnet lifters like the ones they sell at pvd, but to get them here is just a tad expensive....can one just use the normal lifters like those found on the 5 door Astra F models boot? Those Gabriel jobs....
Cheers...

Buy the PVD ones trust me!
I thought the same as you and went to Maxy P 2002 at the NEC. Bought a set of 'Superstruts' for £15. Plus some other stuff.
However one of the struts have now gone faulty (a common problem). Because it was a german company there was not alot of chance finding them, so I rang the importers of 'Superstruts' and they, you have to beleve, told me to ring Germany to a company called JOM, the so called makers who will send me a pre-paid post sticker to send them back to them, on arrival to them she opened the package to find aparanty there not there struts!
On ringing the importers they said that i had sent them to the wrong people and they should have been sent to another company. After numberus e-mail to this 'other company' with still no response im looking at footing the bill for the postage there and back.
So if i were you pay the extra, buy them form PVD, its unlikely that there going to mess you around

hang on ross, p&p from UK to Africa?
Rear ones might work if you get them from a car with a rear spoiler because of the extra weight involved, they just won't look quite so cool

Yip. P&P to this part of the world is very expensive.
Anyway, surely the PVD lifters are the same as normal boot lifters or the ones found on the BMWs? (Bonnet)
Anyway, I will check out the gabriel ones....Will let ya know if I find anything....
Cheers....

I hear you need weak ones cos otherwise you'll bend the bonnet. try posh ones off the bootlids of bmw or audi saloons
