    Lightbulb Calibra wheels

Thinking of replacing my current wheels with larger ones,
Presently have standard 15'' with 205/55 Goodyear tyres.

How big can I go without any work to the wheel arches etc.

    Thanks
    Fritz

as long as you stick btetween 45 and 49mm ofset you can get 19's if you can afford them, i know for a fact that 18's with a 215/35/18 tyre will go on with no mods needed

I've got 18" with 215x35 on with 35mm lowered on Eibachs - would have thought 19's would go on if I really wanted to but 18's are enough for me.

Mine is lowered 40mm, I run 7x17" that are 38mm offset with 204/40 tyres and get no rubbing, no tramlining and no bump-steer.

    Thanks guys.

From your replies I gather that 19 '' wheels would go on without any modifications.
    max tyre size 225 ?
    min/max tyre profile ?
excuse my ignorance but Offset is what exactly.

My 18's are Et40 but i think you can go lower as per david or higher.

As for the profile if you keep it low like my 35mm there is more chance of them getting buckled if you hit a pothole but if you have a high profile they don't look as good and the overall radius will be bigger too which might reduce acceleration. Hence it is a compromise between looks, performance and use.

I don't know if 225mm width would look right, 215mm is fine.

Just out of curiosity how much are 19" tyres going to cost as its £500 ish for a set of 18's?

Im still shopping around for wheels and have not yet decided what to get. On getting new ones I might consider selling old ones.
From the information gathered I believe the best option would be 18'' 215/35. I might have to go for a higher profile as pot holes in my country are not a rarity.
imcsherry - any pics of the wheels. I would like to get an idea what the car would look like with 18's.
    Thanks.

    Calibra Wheels

Hi, Whilst we are on this subject of 18" wheels, I am on the brink of buying a set of 18" with 225 / 35.
I have put them on and they didn't seem to obstruct but then it's not the same as driving down the road in them. Is there anyone out there that know if I need any offset for this size?
