    Re-Spraying Centre Console?

    hi

    Im wanting to re spray my centre console in my mk4 convertible as i canot find a replacement in the same colour as its a rare gold/champange colour

    i am wanting to re-spray it black to match the rest of the dash

    any ideas of what to use i am clueless lol ??

    Whay not just buy a replacement? There's always plenty of them cheap on ebay in various colours.

    the colour of my dash looks darker than that... that says its silver mine is more gold?

    i would buy a replacement in black or it origional colour but canot find one spesh for a convertible with the extra buttons etc....

    Maybe an idea, it might just be worth giving your local dealers a ring and finding out how much a replacement centre console would be. If you want it to be mint and would prefer the original colour it's the best way to get exactly what you want. Might be expensive, but then it might not - some replacement parts seem to be absurdly cheap for what they are whilst others are expensive.

    It'd be a shame to respay your coupe dash... is it in bad condition? I'd get one from you local scrap yard and respay that, but, your have to rub it back very well as it has some kind of thin plastic/rubbery coating over the molding which will react with the primer and paint if you don't get it all off.

    I would strongly advise getting a spare console to spray. Otherwise you will have to respray the one you have and you will rush to get it done, so you can refit it to the car.

    Taking your time is key, and having the will power to walk away between coats lol

    i sprayed my full dash in my old corsa b and i found it alot easyer to get a spare full dash instead of driveing around with no dash for a while lmao
    also as posted above have a look around for the one your after on ebay etc before painting yours...thats your easyest option like.good luck

    Best place is the scrap yard..
