mk3 astra steering wheel cowel

i've put a calibra steering wheel (non air-bag) on my mk3 which has an air bag standard, problem is, the standard cowel wont fit because the smaller diameter bit of the wheel which should go through the hole in the cowel is to far in (ie closer to the clocks) by about 15mm.
i reckon this is because the non air bag wheel has the usual pin on a ring and the airbag one has a reel of tape in a little drum instead (4 wires) which spaces it out more

anyone got any ideas on what i can do? is there a different cowel i can use? it looks like i've nicked it atm so that wont do lol

Use an Ph1 cowl (ie. from a MK3 with no airbag)

i fitted a Momo wheel (no airbag) to an airbag model GSi and the cowl fitted fine?

i guess the momo boss must have been longer or something? the wheel used to be on my mates corsa which had no air bag and fitted fine. i'll look round the scrappys for a cowel

like i said use a normal none air bag ph1 gsi one!
