    fibre glass bonnet gen please??

hi guys so the time has come to shed some weight on the track car, im planning on having a fully removable bonnet so that its not on hinges when you open it, so thats 4 aero catches in each corner right???

my main concern is, will the bonnet stay pinned or will it flap about a little???

easiest way is to have 2 pins at the front, and have 2 triangular ali plates over the back corners so the bonnet just hooks under, much quicker to take off then

i'll try and find a pic...

ohh i see what you mean the bonnet "slides" under those plates so you dont have to fiddle with catches

what car is this for? depending on the shape of the bonnet you will probably find the centre lifting and cracking to funk at speed, I'd fit a third catch on the front dead centre for security, I was shown an awesome pic of a 205 today with a big /\ in the front of the bonnet at 60mph which on a track is usually cornering speed.

hmmm...even if its made with reinforcements?? such as an X bar going through the middle out of say aluminuim rod??? kind of like a support

alu rod sounds more promising than a FG brace.

its light aswell so maybe make a frame from alu rod/plate, which is an X and then a straight bar going from one bottom point to the other for the front...dunno if that makes sence..?? lol

im thinking some form of alu plate or maybe even something like stainless/sheet metal which is like 1" wide would be better, it will atleast flex a little bit rather than stay completly solid
