    Angry Steering Rack Crack

Recently had to have my steering rack welded vack on to the chassis on the drivers side as it had snapped off its mount and the surrounding chassis, garage bloke said it was cos i was runnin 17"s, and told me to get smaller wheels or it'll happen again! anyone else had this problem, or heard of it?

I can't see how 17"s would affect if the rolling radius is not much diffrent to standard. I expect it was just a weak weld

He said it was the width of the wheels, which is 205. But i didnt think it would be that either, think it was a but corroded. Now recently thou i have a steering problem, when i take a left turn and then straighten up the wheel is facing a bit left but the car is going straight! same with right turns. had tracking done, but this still happens! any help?
