17's on a Astra GSI

Ive just recently brought a 2.0 16v Astra Gsi and I want to stick some 17's on it and lower it. Does anyone know what wheel diameter e.t.c is best to go for - Im thinking 17x7.5? Will the arches need to be rolled for this? Once the 17's are on, how low can I go without problems?

I haven't got a GSi, but i've got a MK3 Astra...

Ive got 7x17s, and a drop of -40mm alround. no arch mods

no problems here!

7.5x17 should also be ok.

17x7s will be better if you can get em, in the 49 mil offset too! if you've got a later P/R mk3 you might get away with 7.5s coz they tend to have a smaller lip, i think.......

oh btw... my alloys are ET35 - and they are fine... just goes to show really...

no tramlining, no rubbing/ scrubbage, ok at high speeds aswell.

Try to stick to Et42+, otherwise you will most likely have rubbing/tram lining problems with any wheels with an offset lower than this.
