Use your old plates as a template..
Choose a drill bit the same size as the holes in your old plate (think I used 5mm bit).

I used a metal bit.... you don't want to be using masonry. You could probably use a wood bit too..
    Think metal is best though

i found if u use a sharp drill bit and drill from the back it cuts throught the plastic backing better
    ie without snagging it

    Mk3 Astra (again)
don't drill them.... get someone to bond them on for you (much neater) no nasty screw heads.

    ?

Wha u mean "bond them on"?? not heard of that before. The only problem that I have is that they are private plates so they do need 2 B removable when I change cars.

If you wanted to stick them on, your local motor factors will most likely sell double-sided sticky pads just for this kind of job (that's what is holding my front plate on)

yeah dont use screws goto halfords and its about £4 for 6 sticky pads and just follow the instuctions, they are very strong and will not come off, they sell them where they make up the plates,

much much better than puting screws in

    plates

drill from the back cause if ya drill from the front the white/yellow and numbers are pulled away from the plate or get twisted and fill up with water and dirt thts why you get some plates with big black lines on em over the screws. use your old plate as a guide and use a drill bit the same size as the screw.

    no don't drill.........
    stick them on !

Halfords used to do sticky things that guarantied a replacement if they fell off
Although when I recently bought some sticki-doos to hold No plate on I could not find this brand…….
Maybe they went out of business? lmao
Anyway never had any problems with halfords own brand, but make sure you have good clean dry surfaces to stick them to.
