not too sure tbh but most cars (98 onwards) you have to take the bumpers off to change. i know for sure the mk4 astra has to have it taken off.
    I smile because I don't know what's going on.

Thanks for the advice mate. Ive had another look once i had taken 10 mins to cool down as it was winding me up, and it looks as though if I jack the front up and try from underneath I should be able 2 get them out without having to dismantle the entire front end haha!!

Front bumper comes off easy enough, why the stress?
For the love of God, please read the rules

You need to at least drop the top of the bumper as there is a bolt on each headlight right behind the corner of the bumper.

its a bit tight for space in my garage at the moment so im guna have 2 push the car out onto the drive. Its just a stress because its now dark so it will have to wait until tomorow for all the bumper removing shenanigans!

just an update.....completed the job today and for anyone doing this in future:

    1) bumper has to come off (as said by many above!)
    2) the 3rd bolt holding the headlight in from underneath can be accessed by jacking the car up and using a 10mm spanner/socket.
    3) when refitting/fitting new light units, on the nearside there is a thick wiring loom clipped just under the "ledge" where the light sits. I had to move this to get the light back in properly.

Thanks for all the advice lads, Stevie!
