    Curved sidewall tyres

    Hi All,

After some advice. I recently got some Yokohama paradas on the rear (had them on the front already) But now i got some searious rubbage so im going to have to back to tyres with a curved sidewall.

I had falkens berore wich were spot on, never rubbed at all. Wasnt to impresed with the grip.

Just wondering if any was has any recomendations on any more with a curved wall??

could you not go for a lesser width? ie streched? or would it not suit the overall look with the rest of the car?

What car, astra mk3? What size wheels are they? lol

You can get 18s onto an astra without scrubbage

Thats very strange IMO, scrubbage on both sides? On the arch I take it?

Proxies have square side walls so would miss the arch, but it's weird that they're catching.

Yes. it's worse on petrol tank side for obvious reasons. Then out of the blue it did it on the other side, Well yes it the arch but i think it's a wee to low on the rear as its catching at the bottom bye the sideskirt.

Got some new springs to lift it up a bit...

hmm, i used to run 8x17's and 205/40/17 tyres with no scrubbage. even went to 8x18's with 213/35/18 parada's and still fine. my mate is running vectra gsi ph1 17's on his astra gsi using 205/40/17 parada's and they dont run at all with the std lip still on the arches.

    bit strange that

check the beam bushes and get the grinder out on the arch, i had an astra gsi on a 60mm drop with the same size/spec wheels and they didnt scrub

I have same problem on my MK2 with 205 40 17 some tyres are ok and some are not, some seem to come out from where the rim is and some curve in.

I'm currently using Nankang Ultra Sport NS-II's

    Re: Curved sidewall tyres

well i have changed the tyres back to the falcons and no scrubbage. It's strange but i can see how its doing it.

I can't say i fancy getting the grinder out as i like to keep the original lip to save from rust and the bushes i never even thought of checking??? It only seems to catch next the sideskirt at the bottom of the arch
