    sticky window

the previous owner of my car had tinted windows all round, it was the film stuff you can buy from halfords etc. When its been taken off the adhesive has stayed on the back window and it looks bloody awful.

any ideas on how to get it off?

iirc white spirit on a cloth gets it off nicely

edit - you might have to scrub really really hard though

I would heat the glass up with a hair dryer to get it soft and see if you can shift it with a plastic scraper

if not then you'll need cellulose thinners and a LOT of cloths

dont use just one as you'll smear it and be very liberal with the thinners

not very easy thing to get hold of but see if you can get hold of a spray called multisolve. it is the nuts. i used it to remove the stickey stuff from the badges on m y old car and it worked a treat and there was no elbow grease needed.
