    195/40 16 Tyres - where from??

Can anyone tell me where the best place to get 195/40 16" Tyres from is?? Its a pretty unpopular size, and I'm struggling to find them at a resonable price.

Anyone on here got them? If so, what type and how much were they/were'd you get them?
    Cheers

For the extra cost over a 45 I really cant see the point. MAkes for a harsh ride & that much more susceptable to damage or blowouts etc.

I'm thinking of fitting 40 profile to the Nova to help with the rubbing on the rear.

not really any extra cost, seeing as how cheap mytyre is and they will all but stop any rubbing

Spoke to you at PVS2007 about this problem - Why not remove rear stub axles - remove welded on mounting plate and reshim the rear stub axles using thinner plate - to effectivley move the rear wheel in !!!

I took on board what you said and very nearly rear disc'd it over the winter, with moving the stub axel's in over as part of the conversion, but money simply won't allow at the moment. I need four new tyres anyway, so think going to a lower profile will help for now without having to change anything else.

Anyone fancy donating a modded rear axel lmao

I cant understand why its rubbing. Your wheels et 49?

Try Yoko A539 in 45 profile, they are very slim size wise (make other 45's look huge). Cheap too.

Hi, hope this helps... i have a Nova saloon... so the rear inner arch will be different, currently have 60mm drop and 16" Speedline Alesio 2 ET49 with p zero 195x45x16 tyres

i failed the MOT as they rubbed on the inner arch, if i had any thing in the back, i added 10mm spaces but now if any body gets in the back they rub on the outer arch...

when i bought the tyres kwikfit said 195x45x16 would be the correct rr but after a bit of checking its increase by 20mm 195x40x16 would have been spot on for my original 145x80x13 tyres.

found these on ebay 4x Toyo T1R 195/40/16 Tyres £215 + £18 P+P but then you got to get them fitted... don't know if there any good but hope it helps..

Cheers, I've found them for £213.53 delivered from mytyres.co.uk - fitting isn't a problem, I can do it myself at work!
I don't have any worries for the MOT, its only when I have a passenger and a boot full of camping/cleaning gear and tools on my way to shows that it rubs really bad!

Think the credit cards gonna be getting a hammering soon, need them before I put it back on the road in a month or so's time!
