    Will it be ok?

    Hoy hoy,

My Astra will be completed (well almost ) in the next couple of days, my query is will it be ok to drive around with it in primer for a few days? What about if it rains?

    Thanks,

    MattJ

Should be for a while. Primer is more porous than normal paint which is why we add a less porous glossy paint on top.

Don't leave it out for a long peroid of time though as eventually it will start to blister a bit with rust.

It could withstand a few months in the summer and less so in the winter, provided it wasn't too wet. How think is the primer? Is there any bare metal showing??

Not sure how thick the primer is but there is no bare metal and all of it has been undersealed. I think that's right........

its not a good idear as primer can asobe warter and it can screw up the tope coat some time later after its sprayed.

but iv got away with it before but its a body shop would not recomend it

    Nothing !
dont do it unless your not bothered about the final paint coat on top!! so much can feck up the paint process its untrue!! for the price of a few buses/taxi's you will have a better paint job in the end , you would need to blast the car with high pressure air jets to get rid of all the dust/dirt that can cripple a paint job , nevermind water!!!! just dont do it , nuff said. My paint job was done over a year and 1/2 ago and every time I wash it it looks fresh from the shop , what would you rather have ? use the bus dude.
I only realised I was dyslexic when I turned up at a toga party dressed as a goat...........
