    Dashboard Removal

    Hey does any1 know if it is illegal to drive round with no dashboard in the car aslong as I have Speedo etc fixed in place?

    hmmm.......VOSA webiste seems to say that aslong as all necessary warning lights are displayed and working (they should be on the speedo unit), then its fine.

    u can email them questions though. Might be an idea?.....

    As long ass you have a speedo its fine, As you need to be able to tell the cars speed,
    Thats all that needed.

    hope this helps, but as Benn says, u should be fine with just a speedo. I was watchin Top Gear before and there was a road legal, 2 seater race car on there.....that didnt have any dash at all!!!

    Hmmmm had a car with no dashboard for a while, went through MOTs ok and the police were bemused by it but that was it really.

    i know plenty people without dashboards,not a problem as long as the speedo is secured down and the light swithes and stuff are secured to not cause any danger of wires touching and it`ll go through mot`s no probs.

    yeah my mk2 has only a piece of alloy with switches on, its ok as long as there is nothin really sharp
