What tyre size with 16s on a nova?

Hi all just wondering what tyre profile would be best with 16s on a nova? 195/40/16s i can get but at a price, 195/45/16s are easier to get for a fair price!
    cheers for the help

45 is the way to go.
40s are hard to find and pricey...

but will there be any rubbing issues when driving or steering full lock when its lowered?
I can get a set of Toyo T1-R 195/40/16 for £215 which is pretty good!
    cheers

    How low?
I've run 80mm on the rear, with 195/45 on a 7j wide rim, and didnt have a prob, thats with a rounded side wall onthe tyre, a more squarey one can rub at that low,

Fronts about 60mm, it rubs on the geaxbox but thats from the 16" rim,
You'll need rolled front arches, as it can pull them about when 2/3+ full lock..

I had those Toyos in that profile and it made all the difference on my Corsa, compared to 45's.

    Yep

It rubbed on 45's a lot, and only over bumps on 40's. Granted it was a Corsa.

On a nova you want to stick too 49mm or as close to it as you can,
Any lower and they stick out to far, Any highter and it will rub on the shocks..

    4 spd 1.2 Nova
Alessio's are 6.5" wide & softstars are 6" wide. Both should have no rubbing with decent 45 profile rubber. On a mk1 Nova, the rear arch has a wider lip which may cause a slight issue but generally both of those wheels should be fine. Just stick to 6.5" width max & et45-49mm.

You will find some tyres are slimmer & have a lower profile to other brands, ie Yoko A539 are very slim & give lots of clearance in this size & generally look like rubber bands, whereas the Uniroyal rainsports I once had look like a 70 profile in comparison.
