    Flush door handles on nova

I've gotta get a new set of doors soon cos they're pretty much just filler inside.

What I was wondering was which flush door handles would fit onto my MkII nova the best.

I was thinking vectra or astra MKIII and I'm gunna get it done at a bodyshop (no, not the girly bodyshop that sells soap!). The guys there said it was possible but we agreed to do a bit of research as to which handles would be the best to use so has anyone got any ideas?

    Cheers,

Why not get some audi handles. They're quite popular at the mo.

Audi handles arent expensive- its the cost of cutting out a huge chunk of your door and welding. filling, etc the new ones in that is

yes but theres a difference between...

a pair of pug 405 doors down the scrappy (get the handles and bars u need) £50-60

    and

vemon motorsports £250 audi handle kit

    lmao

    Ive seen the venom 'kit'

    Absolute rip off.

I can get audi handles (still in the door - so a whole door then) for under £50 a pair (and i mean WELL under ).

Most decent scrappers wont charge much either- as they are off old audis.
All venom do is get them from a scrapper and cut them out.

A Solenoid out the boot of a Clio is what i used as my door opener, linked to the alarm so when you turn the alarm off it pulls the solenoid...... which pulls the mechanism that opens the door.

i went down the scrappies and got the solenoids out of the central locking on a cavalier

i then linked them to switches in the mirrors which i got from rickbrook (engine start ones) and used the interior light as a positive

so when i switch the alarm off the interior light comes on and i'm able to open the door

if you take the door cards off the inside, take off the doorhandle from the car, there is a long metal rod connecting the door handle to the catch mechanism that opens/unlocks the door

cut the rod down shorter and drill the solenoids into the inner skin of the door, connect the rod up to the catch and the solenoid, this bit is a bit fiddly to do cause u got to get the solenoid in just the right place so it works properly,

the switches are engine start switches that i got from richbrook.
ive got the mattig dtm wing mirrors and theres just enough room to fit the switch in the corner near the door,

i then linked the positive of the solenoid to the interior light, then the only way you can open the door is when the interior light has power

so when i switch off the alarm, the interior ligth comes on and im able to open the door

when the soleniod is activated, the door just pops out clear of the catch so u can get in

Nathan, Where did you pick up the live from the interior light? Did you have to run a cable to the roof or did you pick it up nearer the doors? If it was the first option how did you get the cable up there???

    Cheers.

when i fed the wire upto the interior light the windscreen was out so all i did is peal back the roof lineing

you sould be able to just take out the interor light feed a piece of stiff wire through to the a pillar cover ( like welding wire or somthing)

connect the cable to that wire and pull it back through
