is it possible to fit rear headrests into mk3 gsi seats?

are there holes in seats for them?

Yes mate, is easy to do. Hardest bit is finding the holes for the plastic mounts as the foam is real thick on the top of those seats.

Do you know of anyone who's actually done this to these particular seats without bodging it? I have bought the headrests & sleeves but there seams to be nothing solid in the top of my seats other than along the very back edge. This is only about 12-15mm or so wide. Not enough to get the sleeves into.

Haven't actually done it myself, a mate of mine did years ago. to find the holes in the metal seat back he removed cover to line up where to cut the holes in the fabric. just lifted the fabric out, marked where to cut holes, put the fabric back over and, well you know the rest.
