Err....any one know what the above means?
I started modifying cars once, at the time fitted some 15 inch wheels to a mk2 astra without lowering it.
there was a large gap between the wheels and the arches.
i fitted a gte 16v steering wheel but it was only a 1.2
i fitted a gte 16v interior but it was only a 1.2
i fitted a sub and an amp too
does this make me the same as him? or am i excluded as i have grown out of those things now?
we all need to start somewhere you know, and we all learn lessons.
I hope HE sees this post if he does and instead of popping across the road with fists clenched he makes best of this slagging and uses it to his advantage.

I bonded the vent onto the bonnet, prepped it and got it sprayed. It was stuck like sh*t to a blanket. Infact it was bonded that hard that instead of the join splitting like everyone elses did, mine used to craze the fibreglass at the rear of the vent! lmao It was quite novel at the time but still ultimately toss.What, you mean you actually got around to fitting them or you just mean 'you had venoms and a scooby vent'
The venoms were on as well and 17's on an R5 about 8/9 years ago was pretty groundbreaking as well, especially with 215's on the back, again they looked toss so were taken off and sold. Plus the inner edge of the tyre catched on the spring cup on the front strut unless they were fitted with a 3mm spacer and even then I was dubious about tanning it around corners due to sidewall flex. I then put my 15" White MO's back onto the car - the same ones I took off to fit the venoms!

the joy of cars is there a personal thing - what i like is somebody elses worst nightmare.
maybe you hate his big wheels and his exhaust and so on, but maybe he likes it. i hate scooby's and fiestas and lada's, but does that mean people shouldnt buy them ?? does it make them "proper chav innit bro" just because i dont like them on my car ?? you make a big point that its a 1ltr, so if it was a 2ltr it would be ok ?? maybe he cant insure a 2ltr ?? maybe he does alot of miles and cant afford the fuel economy ??
and instead of slating him on an internet forum, maybe you should go and speak to him and tell him that maybe he'll get laughed at for what he's done. never know - he might smack you round the head untill you realise that your opinion doesnt make another person a moron because THEIR car isnt to YOUR taste

Yep. For instance, MY Astra is "modified" to my taste..LED replacement interior lamps so no more changes, heat-gunned "factory fresh" bumpers and trim and...eh..that's it. A lightly modified 1.6 Auto Merit..totally standard "lowest of the low" Astra. Very clean, very tidy, very rust free, and very reliable sporting the original VX wheeltrims etc.
Most people would class it as toss..but *I* like it just as it is. Each to their own, if it makes them happy.
My first car was a corsa C, 1.2 one tho, i had 17's on it, and a irmsher back box, and a sub and amp etc. Now this was the result,
