Do you want to install and run "Adobe Flash Player 9"?
No, now f*** ***.
With good reason, looks well tidy mate. Plenty of miles left in the car and the engine, you might never wanna sell it ya know. Is there an original part left on the car?
What power you want from the 8v these days? For track purposes of course.
I'm still bored of mine, wish I had the devotion to spend money on it, but it wont make me happy. Rusty arch, no front grill... standard wheels with centre cap missing. A sorry state of affairs![]()
The photo does look better than reality, but not much. It's going so well at the moment. I get a lot of pleasure out of the fact that what I've done is so unexotic, just tweaked lots of simple things and ended up with a powerplant that feels so keen. Homo had a go last Sunday and seemed pretty impressed. Which always cheers me up. What next? Well I'm having a 2nd bottom end done, it's a 16v one. It'll be lightened and balanced for 7500limit. Then whack it in the car with lower final drive ratioed recon gearbox. Current head on that. Should be good for 165-170BHP once I've cammed it and mapped it.
Not sure that I want to do that yet though. I don't want to lose the soul of this engine. Sounds a bit "tree huggy" that, but it's such a good package that I don't want to lose it.

just curious, if your balancing for extra revs will the 8v engine actually put out more power, or will it just allow you to stay in a certain gear for longer.
charlie dont surf..
The extra revs will only be useful I put a different cam in. Then the power will go up in proportion to the rev rise. Assuming that the induction system can flow enough air. Let's say max power is at 7000rpm rather than 6200, then I could get 7/6.2x150BHP = 170BHP. You get the idea. Plus engine vibration is the only thing about my current engine that I would like to improve on.

Is the halford high temp stuff any good ? - I'd like to spray my 4 into 1 manifold for the GTE before I stick it on .........
As long as you give your 4-2-1 a good sanding then the Halfords stuff will be fine.
I have Halfords high temp spry on my rocker cover and its been fine.! I had my rocker shotblasted prior to spraying.
Micky
Its a bit rusty thats the problem - will take ages to sand it down *
