    Types of car paint

    im looking at respraying just a few panels of my car using a compressor and spray gun wot paint type will i need cos ive look on certain websites and theres cellulose car paint, waterbased car paint, basecoat and 2k solid i dont know wot 1 is the wright type for my car, the coluor of my car is vauxhalls flame red?

    if your going to be painting in a garage i would use 2K solid or basecoat and laqueur. if you havent had much experience just use 2K solid. waterbase is good if you paint it in the right environment, it has to be clean and dry with good air flow. cellulose is getting abit old now, its ok for the odd touch up but i wouldnt paint a full panal with it. hope this helps andy

    if you use 2k, you need to be in a well ventilated area, use a quality mask (pref airfed). The chemicals in 2k can funk up your lungs.

    I do diy paint at the mo i'm using a cellulose type paint from halfords £25 a litre,I find it verry forgiving if you make a mess just rub it down when dry,it will be easy to patch after in case of
    scratches rust bubbles,allthough not as show car shiny
