It sometimes gets me down and a bit irate Can you tell.lmao I'm on page two now and I haven't got a clue how much anyone has paid to get anything chromed be it a wheel a rocker cover or a nut and bolt. I have however got a head ache for my trouble Give me a break eh!
Mostly you will find (and this is the same for - how much will a re-spray cost ect... / how much to fit an exhaust) it varies greatly form place to place

Pick up the yellow pages - and phone about for quotes

No point in someone saying it cost £50 in edinburgh for example - becasue to be honest some place local to you might Charge £30 and another £60 lmao lmao.

Esp on a site like (with many users) occasionaly people tend to make up the "bargain prices" you hear of so that they appear to "know people in the trade" ect... (not a dig at anyone) soy our best best is to find out from the poeple who actually do it.

As I stated in the orig thread. Evey where else has a "Have to see it" policy I'm not a muppet and I know different places charge different amounts. That's why:
    1. I asked for any prices people have paid.
    2. I wasn't bothered what it was for.
    3. I would except prices for a nut and bolt of a wheel or a back axle.

I wasn't asking for a definitive price list which is or was "Gospel" I'm simply asking for "rough" prices. Someone kindly stared to give some gen on the subject but obviously did not like the fact I'm not a complete fecking donkey who wants to bow down at his alter of chromeyness. The slightest hint of sarcasm or back chat and my thread turned into what could of/ should of been a PM session! When I asked for you lot to get back vaguely to the orig topic off it, as usual, pops!

Then it's a "My names in red how dare you, you, you, mere blue named non avatar low life gimp!" session. I'm sorry I've used this board for a long long time. Much longer then a lot of the "lets see how many posts I can get" brigade. This is why I asked for it to be deleted as the way it was inevitably going it would of been closed any way.

But as it seems to be rearing it's ugly head again I'll try and explain in a bit more detail what I was after and perhaps why.
    1. I would like to know the prices people have paid to have items chromed and/or polished.
    2. I don't care what it was or is be it a wheel to a bolt. Anything would be useful.

I'm trying (hard....very hard!) to get an idea of an average price for chroming or polishing etc for and average item. For example an old favorite the speedline allesio wheel. Do people just hand polish them or pay a plater? Does it cost £50 a wheel or £150?

The reason? I'd like a idea ,no matter how rough, of what to expect to pay. Or ,as it was going, how hard or expensive it would be to do it yourself. Remember kids my mate can fly a plane I've got an idea what stuff does in the cockpit but I wouldn't trust me to fly it would you???

Lastly I don't want to get into slanging matches or arguments! Any "helpful" advice is very very much appreciated!

Not guilty there (Yet somehow chav appeared to think i was on his side ) - i couldnt car less if you pay the £15 a year or not, have 3 or 35000 posts or how long anyone has been here - so im agreeing with you somewhere along there. lmao

Call 3 places local to you that you - ask them - then you have your average local price right there - Again people tend to lie about the deals they get and make it appear they paid £50 for something when it actually cost them £100 (Dont ask me why - just it seems to happen around here allot lately)

Depends - if there is some free flights to Egypt available then im up for it (Surely cant be that hard lmao )

I think it was more they way you came across that it could offend a few people - hence the start of yet another bitching thread - Welcome to mig . . . .
