Smile Mk3 Cavalier hatch: Bodystyling ideas

I think it is quite hard to get the Mk3 Cavalier hatch looking as good as the booted version but these aint bad. Personal taste of course but they aint too OTT.

    Quite like this.

Please post more Mk3 hatch kits and bits.

Na! Personally i would never have a Cav hatch but if i did i think they look best slammed on 17/18's with the standard facelift bumpers

Thumbs up And some super-charger gen.

    Supercharger

The Vauxhall V6 engine has lacked the turbo grunt of the earlier Calibra and Cavalier Turbo engines, therefore to rectify this lack in performance on the V6 engines Regal AUTOSPORT have developed the V6 supercharger kit with a minimum power gain of 80 BHP and 60 ft/lb torque. Further enhancements which can be added i.e. camshafts, high flow exhaust system and tubular exhaust manifolds.

How does a Regal supercharger work ?

A supercharger is a positive displacement pump. Its purpose is to increase air pressure and density in the intake manifold. It does this by pumping more air than the engine would use without a supercharger. The supercharger is matched to the engine by its displacement and belt ratio, and can provide excess airflow at any engine speed. The concentrated charge of air provided by the supercharger results in a more powerful combustion stroke in the engine's cylinders, resulting in improved performance over non-supercharged vehicles.

How is a Regal supercharger different from a turbocharger?

A supercharger is connected directly to the crankshaft by a belt unlike a turbocharger which is driven by exhaust gases. A supercharger provides improved horsepower and torque, at lower engine rpm's, by pumping extra air into the engine in direct relationship to crankshaft speed. The positive connection yields instant response, in contrast to turbochargers, which must overcome inertia and spin up to speed as the flow of exhaust gas increases. The supercharger is a way to get around "turbo lag". The lubrication system also differs, in that, the supercharger is self-contained whereas the turbocharger requires engine oil.

Probably because it doesn't work properly and isn't fitted correctly, and when you have a problem with it, they don't care.* **

I didn't want to sell my Cav and looked around a lot for some tuning options as it just wasn't fast enough. I didn't know enough then or I would have bought an old Cav 4x4 8v and stuck a 16v lump and throttle bodies on it and transfered my bits across. I originaly was going to get an RS-Turbo as they are so tunable but most are either sheds or stolen the Sierra came along and I took it.

If there had been a turbo converted 4wd V6 Cav out there for £1400 I would have taken it but sadly no

Gander - They are StilAuto Sigma's and are only available in 16's. They are very similar to Azev A's which are a lot more expensive.
