    Question Tinting back lights on Mk 3

    I am going to tint my backlight clusters and my side repeters but the tin of spray i just bought from Halfords says its not road leagal. does anyone have any problems with Mr Plod

    As long as the light shines through thoroughly enough than you should be ok.

    Make sure there visible in daylight though when spraying them.

    I am only going to put a light coat of smoke tint on , so i shoul be ok then ?
    the car is a hatch in metalic dark green with colour coded bumpers , mirrors and spoiler i have also de-badged and de-trimmed it, and lastnight i put an electric sunroof in from a Vectra

    Like I said, you should be fine as long as the light is still visible through them in daylight.

    No probs with the babylon so far. Did mine last summer and haven't had any comments yet. I put at least 7 really thin coats of paint on, then a couple of layers of laquer and it still shows the lights when they're on. Well worth doing for a few quid.

    Did u wire in the auto closure?

    If so how?

    and I take it the vectra mota fitted no prob's?

    bit of a jiggle this one here goes:-
    the motor circuitboard housing had to have a small amount trimmed from it to miss the bottom of the gutter then it fitted perfect
    the wiring goes like this :- the brown from the motor goes wit the brown from the switch and both go to ground, then ALL th other wires go together ( large red , black and the traced red ) in a connector to a feed. I used a new feed from the fusebox but i have heard u can use the one from the light but i didnt think it was man enough, by the way i am an electrician
