Hey that's the reality of grime and rust that lurks underneath the shiney veneer of a car.

No probs though, I've done 56K of action in that in 2 years and about 95% of that has been top laughs.

Just think, in a week's time that will all be back together.
As soon as the wings go back on it'll transform the car.

Bonnet's looking nice though.

Looks pretty standard I agree.
K&N filter in cut away box,
Carlton 2.5/3.0 throttle body
matched to Irmscher inlet manifold
matched to Blydenstein B+ head with larger valves
on a 156K bottom end
with Jetex uprated downpipe and 2" system

the Blydenstein head is the main bit, the rest is just about trying to improve induction. It makes 138lb-ft and 147 BHP sort of area. Because the car's a bit lighter than a 16v then it's about as fast as a 16v.

Not wanting to appear smug or anything, but all mods are fully declared with my insurers. Cos I'm an old git now and insurance is not such a joke.

fairy muff.....i only pay 720 for my cab however the eng mod aint declared but i was workin in a insurance womans house the other day an she ssaid to act daft if u get caught..was already in when u got it etc

Was it out at all ? Robs was 2mm out of spec which is nothing but we still pulled it back into spec

Apparently the drivers side turret was 3/4inch in at the top and both legs were bent to the left similar amounts.
Thing is, it drove absolutely straight, I'm obsessive about tracking and all that.
Anyway, it's going to be as bang on as possible (allowing for the jig anyways). I don't imagine that the shells are that tightly toleranced anyway.

Robs was 2mm too high on the O/S Chassis leg and the rest was spot on. I`m not sure what the tolorance`s are off the top of my head but they are not massive. Our jig at work is really cool and gives you a print out showing you all the mesurments and how bent ya motor is :-)

I think you got a great price on all the work you are having done BTW.
