    lol,

well, seeing as i work at a bodyshop, my boss recons i could respray my cav in that ford blue for about £200 ish, includes all primer, paint, laquer, and materials needed to sand down orginal paint, and mask it off etc.

still havent decided on a colour yet, as my boss keeps showing me so many fecking nice dark blues that i like!!lmao. still, ive got ages yet to decide, the cav has only just started having its new drivers sill, and both outer rear archs, plus ive got to strip the front end down, as ive got a new wing to fit to the pass side, to replace the pot-holed one in the pic, im going to big mouth the front bumper, and fit new front fog lights. also, ive got to sort out the front slam panel, where i fitted the headlamp washers, the panel needs finishing off and spraying, and im going to respray the bonnet aswell to get rid of the 50 million stone chips in it. then ive got to respray the rear bumper, and once the archs and sill have been welded, fit and spray my facelift sri sideskirts.
knowing me il end up sticking to the haze met blue, as i do like it, but im debating over what to spend the £200 on. either a respray, or a 2.0i 8v engine thats been heavily modified to chuck out "200bhp+", i havent got any paperwork to back this up, although, it wouldnt suprise me seeing as its completely rebuilt, and had kent cams/pulleys/followers, stage 3 ecu chip, uprated gasflowed ported drill head, oversized valves and so on.
what you lot recon i should get?

i reckon you should just buy a tidy cav redtop or something like that rather than throwing hundreds down the drain on an old rotten gli

paint it.......i do love the 8 valve engine, but not in a cavalier the car is too heavy to get the most out of the engine.

erm, im seen more rust on the inside of my fridge before! and how the hell would you know how rusty it is? you havent even seen it. its only the rear arches that have gone on it, and they arent that bad, it was only very minor surface rust on the pass side on 2 places, but i decided to have it replaced anyway before it gets any worse, same with drivers sill. its only costing me bout £200 to have both rear archs and drivers sill welded to the car, plus a few other bits sorting on it, so nah, i think, il stick with ma gli, as the rest of the car is mint and solid. my cav only cost me £27 to start with, and after the welding, all she needs is a cv boot for an mot, and then ive got myself a mint, 2.0i 8v modded cav, with no problems at all. plus if the get this 200bhp+ 2.0 lump, she'l give any redtop a run for its money, and ive paid a fraction of the cost. whats a decent standard, redtop sri? bout £500-800 ish. whats my cav gli completely modified with 204bhp 2.0i 8v engine, 17inch kahn's, mot n tax, cav turbo leather seated that have been re-trimmed in black n silver, plus piles of other mods? about £500 if that. i just know the right people who have sorted my cav out for next to nowt.
id rather have a 2.0i 8v anyday over a redtop or ecowrec. might not have the power, but its a much better engine imo.
