I have recentley purchased a Steering Wheel with Airbag from a MK3 Astra to fit on my MK2 but have been told that the steering columns are different so will not fit.
Is there any way around this??![]()

Really??
I didn't want to take my other 1 off to find it didn't fit
They are the same columns, both use a splined shaft that the steering wheels fits on. The newer Vauxhalls have a different shaft which is shaped like a 50 pence peice.
One question mate, why on earth did you go out and buy an airbag wheel for a MK2?
no no no no no the airbag wheel wont fit - the splines are different and so's the cowelling around the wheel.
p.s. it could go bang too
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Tish
Took mine off yesterday Haynzee and the splines look (as far as I can remember) the same as the non-airbag spline. Thought it was just the electronic airbags rather than the mechanical airbags that had a different shaft.
no gen

ive just saw a mk 2 with the mk3 air bag fitted so take the plunge goodlook either ways its only 1 nut to remove the mk 2 and 2 sdrives and a nut for the mk3 wont hurt to remove and have a look pull fuse on bag to be safe hope this helps
