Well...if you are going to do it yourself, be very patient, calm and dont rush.

Also heat the film on window for a good 20mins after applying. Ive seen many DIY window tints in past where after a couple days they begin to bubble up and blister.

But if your confident enough to do it yourself, go ahead.

Do it in the bath to get them REALLY wet. Thats the tip my uncle gave me and he does them for a living.

Ross - which tint film are u going for??

I would think the rear window would be difficult as you cant easily remove it to put the film on.

Here is what I do when tinting windows:

    1) wash the glass from both sides
    2) use a razor blade to clean the surface of the glass that is about to be tinted and make sure it dry without any fingerprints (contaminations)
    3) prepare a solution of 1 litre of water and a few drops of Johnson baby shampoo (don't ask me why - a friend that works at a tint shop uses that)
    4) spray the glass and the film
    5) peel the protective cover from the film spraying as you pull
    6) place pre-cut piece on the glass and using for example, a credit card, working from the middle-outwards, remove any air bubbles.

You may want to practice first - it will save you a lot of frustration.

    Hope this will help.

I removed all my glass from my mk1 escort, and placed mine in a kiddies paddling pool to apply the film, worked a treat.!
