Minimum Sensible Sideskirt clearance

I've just measured up my sidesirts against my car and th gap at lowest point (rear wheel) is 4 inches or 10cm. With a drop of 35-40mm wer'e looking at 2 1/4 inches or 6 cm gap.

Is this gonna make the car completely impractical for driving or will it be ok if speedbumps are treated with a bit of respect.

How far of ground are other peoples after markets skirts and what probs have they caused.

Seriously, my splitter is very close (front and rear) and my cat is closer and scrapes. Just go very slowly.
