    DIY single wiper

Is there a way to make a single wiper, for an astra mk2?

Maybe using linkages from another Vauxhall?

I'm not to keen on spending £100 on a kit.

I did it on a Nova, but i'm not sure about the Astra, any advice please???

on the cav and vectra you can get rid of the passenger side wiper and move the central linkage out by about 20 degrees and bingo, maybe get a bigger wiper, but there ya go, dunno about Nova and Astra

I think the nova is the same as the mk2 in which case you can cut about 8mm out of the T piece and use a 20" wiper blade.

It is easy, buy a 24 inch blade.

    Remove the drivers wiper arm.

Fit big blade to passenger side and loosen the nut that holds the arm on.

Move arm to the left so the blade is only just on the screen (like in photo below.)

Tighten nut and test. Adjust by loosening nut and moving as nessecery.

should look a bit like this when done

an idea u could try is use a motor from something like the citroen BX and use that instead, as this will give you the full sweep of your wiper blade. When i had me nova i did the same, but used a fiat uno motor and it worked a treat - just a

I thought of that, but was not sure if on an Astra there would be sufficent clearance because of the location of the fan motor and housing. I guess the best way would be to go to the breakers yard and toolbox one and give it a try!
