I went to Vaux to ask them to pull my steering wheel as it was a little offset...

£29 they wanted!!! 1/2 hour labour they reckoned, Yeah, right.

So, I bought a puller (£10) and did it myself...3 Mins max!!!

    Robbing tw*ts...
Oooh you don't wanna do it like that!!!

    Talking i know y...

well i work for a vaux dealer, in the parts dept.

the reason for expensive parts is the fact that they are either common or not.

vauxhall basically need to cover overheads of manufacturing a small amount of the specific part.

but i must admit...hey are too pricey.

i feel sorry for customers on the counter so i discount where i can..but you cant always do that....

hope this has kinda cleared up y the bits are expensive

I must admit that some prices are a little expensive, but, they are not any worse than other manufacturers.

Ie. Audi want 80 quid + VAT trade for the little black plastic grill insert, that goes under the front n.o. plate on the front bumper on an A8, or 400 for a side glass

dealer i work for (wilson and co, s****horpe, or even skunthorpe, if its been silly!)
charge 35 pound plus vat for an hours worth of work, but the pay that technicians get is poop really!

like i said i give discount where applicable.

so if you want any bits let me know as we have lots of old stock.....

could also put the difference down to the fact that most if not all Vauxhall garages are franchises
