Vent smoothing help req'd
I'm about halfway thru blending in my evo vent to my bonnet on my astra.. Problem is i've been using a detail sander and then wet & dry paper but everytime i prime it, it's pitted and chunks have been gouged out and i just can't get it sorted. Could this be due to using the wrong sander/grade of paper or filler that hasn't set properly?
I really need some help here lads, as what I thought would look sweet has turned out to be a bit dodgy so far.
Any help, ideas or suggestions would be a great help.

a detail sander aint a good idear m8
you nead a random obital forbody work
so get on or do it by hand
rum it right down with 400 grit then use soome filler to smooth it out rubb that down re fill if you need to then
rub it down woth 600 then spray 3 coats of filler primer
more of its from a can and not a compresser
using a guide coat ie quick dusting if any old black paint
a vert light specaled coat
leav it a bit the block sand the prime with 600
the guide coat will show any hight or low spots
this is the hard bit
do this againg and again untill you get it right
the spray a coulpe of final filler primer coats and rub that down with 800 grit then 1200
and change the warter between sand paper grit or you will get scraches from the early papers on your hard work

after reading that im glad i never bothered doin it myself
- far to much work for me to be bothered with
-
on more tip when puting in the last scrap of filler
thin it a bit with cellos thinners.
it will go on smother
