prob cheaper to get a new wheelOriginally Posted by Ben2563
Thing is all four are flaking. Looks like only option may be to rub down and spray but its a shame as the chrome looked ok.
chrome is a bugger to do, why not get them stripped down and then polished face? can give ya a quote.....
if its flaking off, dont use an ally wheel cleaers on them,
wellyou shouldnt anyway...
I'm louder than gods own revolver and twice as shiney.
Are they BK wheels by any chance?
Most boy racer alloys are soft as 5hite & poorly finished anyway.
my mates Team Dynamics Diablo's are have lost most of their chrome now & 2 of them have developed cracks & buckles. Its not like the car goes offroad or anything.
Compomotives all the way IMO.
it's a C20XE not a fookin Redtop FFS
friend of mine has bk rims,
and most of the chrome finish came off,
so we used the jet wash at work and blasted the rest off,
really nice shiney black under it..

Yeah I can see the black underneath, its very smooth, looks like they weren't keyed up at all. Poor job, the lad before me done the damage.
Problem is leaving them black is the car is black also....
its part of the chrome finish,
so its very shiney and looks mint,
justthem a hot jet wash with some wheel cleaner and you'll have shiney black rims,

i would try one of these, they are chrome platers local to you. these small companies value one offs like this and i would go for hard chroming which would 'stick' better, ask them for quotes. i tried a place near me in manchester and he did my motor bike frame for free as he was dipping some pump shafts or something that afternoon. its worth a try!
