    Lowering..... On Coilovers.

Okay, got myself some Spax RSX Coilovers. I want to slam my car so the rear arch is over the tyre. I got the wide arch kit on my car, the Coilovers say they lower to 60mm. That isn't going to be enough as I had 40mm's on the front and 60mm springs on the rear before, so..

    Help!!

Have you fitted it yet? Bear in mind a few days to let it bed-in..
The spax rsx kit; providing its the RSX543 kit; as it should be for nova/corsa is a 75mm max front lowering (adjustable) and a 60mm rear lowering (fixed) - on a corsa it may tend to drop it lower as normally suspension kits for a nova, if fitted to corsa (a bit heavier car) lowers the corsa slightly more.
Im sure the front; if adjusted as low as poss, will suffice. At the back if its not the drop you wanted - get some custom coilsprings '89 made up. Or tuning.co.uk do some sort of part that eecks a few mm off the ride height of any springs; give that a go.

they should lower more than 60mm. more like 50-80 or somethin daft like that. just put the plastoforms right at the bottom and see how it sits

You could turret the rear out so that the coilovers have a higher mounting point which will allow the beam to sit higher in the arch. This will shorten the available travel some. Its almost necessary with CO's anyway as the std topmount isnt designed to have the weight of the car on it.

Another way to grab a half an inch is if you fit rear discs you can raise the rear stub axles. Effectively mounting the wheel slightly higher on the beam.
    it's a C20XE not a fookin Redtop FFS

    That Nova on Porsche Rims
My nova is on gaz coilovers, fully wound down it sat 80mm at the front, wasn't enough so i cut a coil off the top, flatened it, painted it & now it sits 110mm at the front.

But hey, that's not for eveyone
