    carbaric blue colour matching

    hey people.after buying a compressor and spray gun ive decided i want to respray my bonnet as its got some rust and stone chips id like to get rid of.i was just wondering though will it look silly as the car is 11 years old.has anyone sprayed parts of their car in this colour before or know if i will have any problems matching?thanks

    Good luck fella, its a right coont to match! Not solely the age thing but there are many factors that affect the final colour. Air pressure, colour of primer, ambient temperature, humidity etc.

    It is an arse.

    Your probably best cutting the top coat of lacker off the wings to about half way down and painting the bonnet and dusting the wing tops then lacquering the lot!

    there will be a few shades,
    take something from the car to your pait surplyer and see if they can colour match it,
    I'm louder than gods own revolver and twice as shiney.

    never had a problem colour matching caribic blue (stadard shade) with our works colour scheme (standox standohyd system) don't even need to blend adjacent panel.

    that said, paint factors schemes may differ esp. if in solvent base coat. but dont ever try matching using halfords rattle cans...
