    advice on smooth boot!!

    I,n looking at purchasing a smooth boot for my v6 hatch but whats involved in doing a smooth boot?the lid is up for £30 and by the time ive collected it your looking at £80,could i do my own cheaper than this?

    i made one for around 20 - 30 not including spraying, basically get a plate tac welded to the boot bout a 1/8 of an inch below the finished level, fiberglass over that then fill n smooth, as much fiberglass as u can n the least of filer as fiberglass is stronger.

    but on a cav?

    if its a welded plate one and not a filler job and it has been done well then just buy a pre done one.

    saves SOOO much hassle
