they may not be considered legal

i know a few ppl that have removed thier side repeaters and used the LED ones on the M3 mirros, and they'ves failed MOTs for the same reason these will

    What reason is that then???????
LED lamps are not illegal, just look at all the latest HGVs they all have LED lamps cos they have a longer life and give a better light than normal bulb type lamps.

Spoke to my mate (an MOT tester) last nite about this. He said that as long as they flash amber between a certain amount of times a minute, theyre fine, doesnt matter if they are bulb, LED, whatever.

I have some of those mirrors and when i asked my mot bloke about them he said the reason they would fail was that they dont really show up from the side, more from the front.

the m3 ones . what i meant was that my mot bloke had no problem with them being leds only that they pointed the wrong way.
