    Blending side skirts

My bodyshop says its difficult to blend in the NOVA GSi sideskirts into teh body as they are too flimsy, and also the 2-paint won't show up as well as the rest of the car?

is this entirely right?? (or only the first bit?)

...so he said he will make the "L-shaped" end of the skirt himself and fabricate that into the body ...
but then the side bits along where the skirts normally go along will look rather bare ...can these bits be smoothed into the bodywork??

personally i wouldn't blend standard skirts in as they're not chunky enough.

    Does anyone still remember me?

what else could I blend in then?

(if not two lots of GSi skirts -side bits attached to each other vertically)

    Irmscher sideskirts

    I LOVE THESE SKIRTS!
    Irmscher, £330 the pair.
But I also want the L-shaped bit from the Nova at end to be moulded into that.

Can anybody do me a pic of that on photoshop or something on a side view Nova, with the skirts or similar with the L-shaped bit???

what u think anyway? or is it too expensive?

get some m3 skirts if you want to mould something in.
or buy a demon tweeks mag, have a look through there. There are loads of adverts for various sideskirts and stuff.

What are you having done to your car in the bodyshop again? Surely if you're having this much stuff done your leaving it late to decide on stuff?!?!

which is why I DON'T want the the GSi ones Dave...

I said I wanted something like the Irmscher ones, with the L-shaped bit of the GSi added on at the end.

...but I am still open to suggestions (cheaper alternatives!)

    why dodgy?
if its done proper it would be good.

I think one of the best bits of the Nova GSi skirt is the L-shaped section.

If I dont have that bit, I will get just the Irmscher skirt above on the Omega...

    Finally...

...I have decided on what sideskirts I want! HOORAY.
    They are from a SAXO!

What u think? They will have to be custom made, as the Nova's sill is slightly shorter.
NOW, shall I get the L-shaped bit added to the skirt when they make them,
get bodyshop to make it when they out it on and do the blending then,
or leave it off altogether ??

    FAO: DaveB

I now need to give the exact dimensions to the people who gonna make me these sideskirts.

Would it not be best to actually send them one Nova GSi skirt so that they can see it, get the measurements right from that, and see where to put the fixings etc?

    DaveB,
if you are going to Barnsley for me, would it be possible to get ONE sideskirt from the bodyshop where my car is, and post that to Edinburgh for me (where the sideskirt fairies live?).

Good idea or not? Just thinking they cant get it wrong then!

I will obviously pay you a drink for your troubles, and the cost of the postage etc.

    thats a .com site.
Thanks ...but I dont like anything that I have already seen on a Nova.
I also no longer want the L shaped bit on the end of the skirt.

I want sideskirts from oother cars to make fit to the Nova ... but which ones, and from where??!

want something smooth, not anything mad, that will go with a smoooth Nova...
