    Replacing doors - locks?

Sorry if this is a really dumb ass question - but i think i have found a replacement door for my corsa tha was broken into AGES ago - am just wondering what you do about the locks? Change over one from old door? Fit new? Use one on new door if they have key?

    MAny thanks

If it was me i would change the old lock into the new door (as long as the lock works ok), you can change the complete door handle as the lock is in there if i remember right. Its not to hard to do.

You can use the lock in the new door but i find using 2 keys a pain (i do this in my Golf)

I never changed a whole door, but i dont think i would be that hard, i would guess that the door hinges are held in with pins and not bolted on (but dont quote me on this).Disconnect the plug that goes to the door (for cental locking speakers etc if its fitted) then remove the pins and the door should come away, place on new door and drive pins back in, reconnect plug and thats about for fitting.

To change the door handle/lock you need to remove the door card. Unclip the connecting rods and unbolt the handle, this should come away as a complete unit with the lock. Refitting is reversal of fitting.

Dont know if i have missed anything as ive not done it for a while.
